Detecting Counterfeit Parts Tandex is constantly screening for counterfeit parts, i.e.; passives, discrete and most all types of semiconductors. Our customers will supply us with their problem part and we, most of the time, can find out if the manufacture has forged, faked, or counterfeited the semiconductors. We will usually have the software program for the testing or screening. But, if not, we have a nominal charge for the software programming fee (NRE). We cannot guarantee Tandex will detect the fakes every time. But, that's why we're here, so you may give us a chance to at least screen for counterfeit transistors, counterfeit semiconductors, fake or forged electronic components that may come across the world of distributors of semiconductors. Below, you will find articles and other sites of interest regarding the world of counterfeiting semiconductors, transistors and all counterfeit electronic components. Testimony from our Valued Clients: Hi Dorothy, I'm ecstatic!!!!! I have been reading about counterfeit parts for years and your website (and others) certainly tries to put a face on it. But I think ( a lot of folks ) change to "some folks" at QSC looked at counterfeit parts as an "urban myth" or something. Even when I could easily demonstrate that the dies were different sizes, there was some reluctance by many to believe that we had 33,000 parts on our receiving dock that were truly counterfeit. Even when I got ( On-Semi ) change to "our approved supplier" to verify what die size they were using, some folks remained unconvinced. But your report took care of the doubting Thomases. I forwarded your report to my senior staff and I have already had two "visits" while writing this email. Thanks for shipping those parts back so quickly. I will be thinking of Tandex Test Labs the next time an issue comes up where we really need to look at the die. Decapping is a powerful "tool". Thanks again, Dave
